Our story
Descending from three generations of leather makers, the industry has always come very naturally to us. For the last 5 years Hurstbrook Leather has been supplying leather goods to luxury brands such as Aspinal of London and luxury hotels such as Palacio Principal Real. However in times of uncertainty we decided to return to our roots, to a better more sustainable way of working. Now we are a low impact business using remnant leather where we can and running small batch manufacturing of all our items directly to the consumer. This helps us ensure we get a consistent quality of product that runs through everything we make. The transition has allowed us to be more creative and intricate with our products so that you, the customer, receive exceptional handcrafted products.

Produced locally in the Havant and Emsworth area, we draw on the history of leather making at the Tanneries in Havant. The heritage from the town is translated into our work from our family generations before us. The style of the products we offer are made to be used without fuss or bother but built to last. We hope you enjoy our products as much as we enjoy handcrafting them.

Here at Hurstbrook Leathers we have selected the finest of leathers from Tanneries around Europe including Italy, Germany and Spain. The hides are known as “full-grain” which means that the skin surface is as it came off the cow, just without the hair. The surface of the skin has not been buffed. This leaves all the character that was naturally on the cow’s skin; scars, blemishes etc. As a result, each product is unique to the owner which we believe is what makes our products so special.
